I’d like to spend a couple of days talking about Jerri Hines, an author whose works have been entertaining as well as enlightening. Take a look at the lovely covers for these series. I haven’t read all her books here, but what I’ve read are wonderful and I keep on coming back for more. It is my plan to spotlight this author over several posts.
She has written three different series penned as Jerri Hines. They all center around the birthpains of a new nation, these United States of America.
Southern Legacy Series (link to ecopy set) is a serial setting during the U.S. Civil War. It is a series you should begin by reading book one. There are possible cliffhangers. The books are presently offered as a set.
Winds of Betrayal Series (link to ecopy set) is a serial setting during the American Revolution. It can be purchased as a set, too.

I leave you with a couple of questions I asked Jerri Hines which she graciously answered.
What is your preferred genre to write in? What sparks that interest?
I have a deep love of history, which is the reason I write historicals. The past inspires me, especially the sacrifices of brave men and women to make the world a better world. I have a special place in my heart for the American Revolution. With Winds of Betrayal, the Culper Spy Ring sparked my interest and I have used them as my inspiration for this series. In the midst of the enemy, these people willingly risked their lives on a daily basis for their cause. They didn’t do it for accolades, but because they felt it was right.
Do you ever think of writing in another genre?
As a matter of fact with the end of Winds of Betrayal, my attention is turning back to my penname, Colleen Connally, and romantic contemporary suspense. I do have two contemporary books in my Boston’s Crimes of Passion series. Writing contemporary is different for me. You have to think to have a completely different mindset, but I’m enjoying the challenge.
