About the Story: For over four thousand years he has been an Elf to command respect from warriors and Kings alike. He is Torrent, Kings Champion and one of the few to go fearlessly into the dangers beyond the portal to form a bond with the Elven Empire there. He is held in great honor there, friend to the King and his sons. He has been sent by the Light King to relay an offer of friendship and help to bring the wars there to an end, for the King has seen a day when the boundary between their worlds will fail. Serenity has shrouded her life in mystery. None save the King knows what she is or what she has done, for she walks a path she would rather none know of. She is an Elf of great beauty and great talent and with one look of her silver blue eyes she has brought one of the greatest Elves her people have known to his knees, for they are Life Mates, and though he would charge into her life and take it over, she would only have him once he has come to learn her ways. Theirs is a battle of wills and learning to bend with the raging winds of fate.

My Thoughts: The plot only gets more intriguing as I move through the series. The light elven enjoy humor and camaraderie between themselves which contrasts sharply to what the elven on the other side of the portal face daily. Few women are left, food is scarce and yet they struggle on, hoping for a miracle.

I think the author has the right of it – women with their strength of character and honor are able to help destroy evil in whatever realm they find themselves as well as any honorable male.

New interesting characters are added to the community of elven we’ve met previously, making this realm even more enjoyable.  It is clear– family, honor, tradition and adventure play important roles in drawing me to the awesomeness of the fantasy world author Abraham unfolds.

Dragons carry the day when they confront the Demons.  I love the relationship and respect Serenity has with her dragon—tenderness in such a creature.  The dragons, even though beasts, have their honor and know what is evil.

If you haven’t yet started reading M.A. Abraham and are a lover of fantasy, dragons and realms unknown, this series is most certainly for you.  She keeps me coming back!

M.A. AbrahamAbout the Author: (in her own words) I have been writing books since before I became a teenager. Most are still hidden in the closet. I used to make up my own stories as a child, everyone used to act them out while we were playing outside. As a teenager someone issued me a challenge. I told her that her stories stunk, she told me to do better.

My job growing up was to play guardian to my little brother, keep him safe. That meant I ended up getting into more fights than enough – makes sense now that I write about warriors.

My family will try to tell you that I’m not innocent, I have a personality that keeps them on their toes. Over my lifetime and theirs I have earn several nicknames – The Godmother, The Evil Christmas Elf (comes from making my nieces wrap their own Christmas presents), Mistress of Ambush. My favorite response to them when they try to get me into trouble is just to look at them with a wide doe eyed expression and say “Moi?????”

I have a seal point Siamese cat named Snoop, named after my favorite cartoon character and hobby. I have a “healthy” but small collection of Snoopy memorabilia. He is a character alright; never met a cat who can talk back like he does. He expects daily dosages of adoration on his schedule when he wants it – not when it’s convenient for me and he HATES snow.

I come from a very large family (mostly brothers) and I could outrun the whole works of them (I’m the shortest!). It was called survival.

This book has been in the making for a long time now. Over a half a year to write it, about the same amount of time to edit it, and probably about the same amount of time to get the art work and website! I have learned you can’t control the timelines of other people – Murphy likes to step in.

So for now I am setting up good luck charms everywhere… didn’t know I had that many stuffed Snoopy’s. *Fingers, legs, toes, eyes and anything else I can crossed*
