CAPTIVATED BY HIS KISS is now only $.99 at Amazon. Barbara Monajem’s story is worth far more than that amount. There are six others novellas from great Regency writers! I wouldn’t hesitate to read any of these author’s stories.

Review of The Christmas Knot by Barbara Monajem
I am never disappointed when I read one of Barbara Monajem’s stories. I love how she gets right into the story and action from the first sentence:
Wanted: respectable, fearless widow to serve as governess to two children in remote Lancashire location. Spartan conditions, haunted house, fair pay. Inquire at the Duck’s Head, Rawden.
This tells me right away that the poster of the solicitation is either a peculiar person and doesn’t even have a post or he/she only wants a governess understand the reality of the position. It also tells the reader that some delicious paranormal happenings will be part of this story!
Who would be crazy enough or desperate enough to apply for such post? Edwina apparently was. So desperate that even when her new employer was someone she’d rather forget, having known him some 12 years back, she didn’t back down. Edwina was made of sterner stuff and as we find, a whole lot more.
Haunted? Ghosts? How ridiculous a thought, but Edwina, Sir Richard, little John and Lizzie eventually truly believed. Of that the ghost was thankful, for if she were to move this story beyond the first page she had to get them to believe and time was running short. Doesn’t this just capture your imagination?
Barbara Monajem enjoys weaving the paranormal into her writing as I love reading it. I’ve enjoyed many of her books and novellas where she adds this spicy ingredient making a Regency Romance more and a memorable read.
